Good morning! I'm heading out this morning!
The upcoming section of trail is closed due to a past fire. The powerhouse fire they call it. The reroute consists of a 12.5 mile road walk, then a short trail up to meet the pct again. Then it's 23 miles to Hiker town.
I managed to escape the seduction of pancakes for breakfast and just had a couple cups of coffee. I packed up my stuff, again, and put my pack in the front yard, I'm making progress!
When it was time to go it was Javelina, Unicorn, Charlie and I loading into the van to be driven back up to the trail head. I'm amazed by how many people are skipping the road walk and are being dropped off at the 23 mile section or are just going to hiker town! I believe the road walk is 2 miles shorter than the section of pct we can't hike, there is a shoulder to walk on, it's not that bad. I'm sticking with my continuous foot path to canada, maybe that's also why I'm falling behind! I keep doing all the reroutes!
We stopped close to lunch time at a restaurant and had a quick meal, then continued on. A few miles from the end I was ready to be off the road and back on trail, cars are noisy.
We all decided to take it easy today and camp at a small abandoned campground where the trail from the road meets the pct. It was nice to settle in before dark and cook our dinners together. It has been strangely cold for this hot section, but I am not complaining! After dinner I bundled up and headed to my tent.

Yep stuck in a vortex again...
I had such a great night sleep here at the Andersons, this manzanita grove is so peaceful to sleep in. It reminds me of a large campground shrunk down to single man tent size.. it's so cute and inviting, I'm glad I came here.
Today I find myself enjoying the community, the people, all there is to do here. I plan to hike out later in the day, it's perfect hiking weather. It's cold and cloudy and feels like it might rain, I bundle up and sit on the couch enjoying a hot cup of coffee and work on loading pics to my blog. Off and on u get antsy and start doing chores, I sweep, I go through all the Hawaiian shirts and pull out the stinky ones. Javelina must feel the same as me, she is helping out also, we both help with laundry. Later Unicorn and I make signs for the clean towels and dirty towels. It feels pretty good to be doing normal life chores!
Later that night I decide to spend he night instead of hitting he road, maybe I feel guilty about that but I also really start thinking about the truth that I may not be able to finish this thing. Sometimes I'm not sure if I want to. Maybe it's just that there is just way to much time to be inside your head and I'm over thinking it.. For now I still have the drive to continue on the trail, and as long as that contunues, I will continue.
