Ahh to wake up in a real bed... such a luxury!
We even slept in! An Epson salt bath and a Continental breakfast. I have a feeling the lady working the breakfast might have been a little shocked by how much we ate. I believe we sat down there for almost an hour, I ate bagals, cereal, coffee, milk, juice. Andrea had bagals, oatmeal, and danishes. It wasn't the best continental breakfast but we sure took full advantage of it!
After checking out of out room we sat outside and stratagized about how we would get back to ziggy and the bears. We saw the bus ran to the visitors center so we figured we could hitch from there. We went to the liquor store to get change for the bus and the owner told us the bus stop was a half mile away.. so we walked outside and just figured we would walk there. Then the owner came outside and told us he would drive us, he had errands to run in that direction. After getting to the visitors center and it out we walked outside and immediately met a lady who said she would take us where we needed to go. She was very pro girl power and we had some wonderful conversations. She dropped us off right at the front door of ziggy and the bears house and was so excited for us. She requested a post card when we finish so that will definately happen!
Back at Z&B we decided that we didn't want to stay long. Andrea got the vacuum from and started vacuuming the outdoor carpets, which started a trend. I took over after her, then one hiker after another would come up and ask if they could do some, it was pretty awesome and I'm glad she thought of that.
We decided to head out, there is a chance of storms and a lot of people just want to stay, we decided to head for the nature preserve 8 miles away. It has bathrooms so there is shelter if we need it.
I have to admit, this was some great hiking. I felt good! My legs were not sore, I was going uphill much better than in the past and I was keeping the same past as andrea. I enjoy hiking with her, we have Similar styles except she likes to get a late start and hike into the dark. I like to get an early start and stop at dusk. We both take a lot of pictures!
The nature preserve was 1/2 mile off the pct and by this time it was dark. Andrea likes to hike without a head lamp as long as possible and I like one on. So she went a bit ahead so she wouldn't lose her night vision. I came around a corner and rolled my ankle. Again. I managed not to fall (not gracefully I should add) and realized I couldn't walk on it. I yelled out to her and she came back. I could hardly put any pressure on it. It was worse this time. I then hobbled the short distance to the preserve and set up my tent. When inside I cried. I thought I broke it this time. I thought I was done.
Thank you andrea for helping me out... I was a it of a baby ;)
