Day 3 all uphill 4/16

Miles I hiked: 10.3
Camped at mile: 36.1
Hikers I camped with: 15
Ending elevation: 5280

There was a bit of excitement when we all woke up this morning. We all told stories of how the wind storm affected us and what happened to us during the night. I packed up my stuff, this time deciding not to have coffee. Today all 4 of us hiked out at the same time with our goal being a campsite under a large tree at mile 36.
Right away Barbara and Justin took off ahead as they are the stronger hikers. Just as I mentioned to Duane that I might want to hike by myself at my own pace today, he said "good, Because I'm not feeling good". At that point he stopped walking and I turned and asked him if he was ok and he said yes, so I continued on my way. I found out later from other hikers and him that he had to turn back and had caught a bug.
The hike today was 100% all uphill! I suck at uphills! So I was pretty slow and a lot of hikers passed me by. There were absolutely no trees in this section and found myself constantly seaching around each bend for a big tree. Finally around six pm I knew I was close and came upon the tree and a really nice area for camping. Justin and Barbara were all set up and there was 1 other hiker there. Justin and this other hiker were both going to cowboy camp (sleeping without your tent) and tried to talk me into it. I gave it serious consideration but ended up chickening out and set up my tent. I made dinner but found myself once again unable to eat much of it. For some reason I have no appetite at dinner. This seems to pretty common and just about all of feel wee have to force ourselves to eat. This WILL change. Soon. A bunch of hikers showed up later and there ended up bring about 15 hikers camping in this area.
