To Stay in Julian or hit the trail, that is the question of the day!
The Hotel offered a Breakfast, so we hobbled down at 7am to check it out and eat with the other hikers and go over our plans. I group was going to leave soon and Justin jumped on the chance to get back to the trail. I want to go back, but I still have a lot to accomplish, I'm just not ready. Barbara headed off to get her foot looked at and I hung out in the room elevating my foot and writing some blogs (I'm behind, sorry). A couple hours later I ran into a group that would be heading out sometime after noon and that sounded great to me!
Sometime later we all met up and headed to a good spot down the road to hitchhike. I think the trailhead was about 20 miles away. The 3rd car that passed us, pulled over and the 3 of us jumped in, she took us about 15 miles down the mile where again we had to stick our thumbs out and hope for a ride. It didn't take long before another lady pulled over and we climbed in her camper.
Back at Scissors crossing. Time to hike up this mountain and leave this valley. I decided that since there are a lot of camping spots on this mountain that I will just hike a couple hours then stop. I'm going to take it very slow and watch my steps. About 5 miles in I found 1 guy camping on a nice little inlet (not sure what the official word would be) and found a nice flat spot and pitched my tent. The guy in the other tent yelled out "I'd come out and introduce myself, but I'm too tired", I told him my name and said goodnight.
